Joint & Double degree Programmes
Joint/Double Degree Programmes offer students the opportunity to gain experience abroad, as well as the chance to learn about other academic approaches and different perspectives. Building up an international network, learning/expanding a foreign language and understanding cultural diversity is just as important for a professional career today as the versatile knowledge one acquires during the study of a joint/double degree.
Montanuniversitaet Leoben, in cooperation with various partner institutions, also offers a number of Master's programmes. Find an overview of already successfully running Joint or Double Degree Programmes here:
The European Mining Course is a new Triple Degree Exchange Master's Programme organised by Montanuniversität Leoben, RWTH Aachen (Germany) and Aalto University (Finland). During the two-year program, students study together at all three universities, one semester at each. The final semester is reserved for the master's thesis.
The EMC covers every aspect of the life cycle of mineral resources. It is designed to provide a solid understanding of the global mining industry and takes a life-cycle approach by covering the entire mining value chain. It offers a state-of-the-art technical basis in resource modelling, mine design and economic evaluation. Technical knowledge is supplemented with topics on business economics, ethics, environmental engineering and a clearly defined and structured program for the management of health, safety and environment. Through guest lectures from industry, excursions and industrial projects, students gain direct insight into the international mining industry.
