Joint & Double Degree Programs

Joint/Double Degree Programs offer students the opportunity to gain experience abroad, as well as the chance to learn about other academic approaches and different perspectives. Building up an international network, learning/expanding a foreign language and understanding cultural diversity is just as important for a professional career today as the versatile knowledge one acquires during the study of a joint/double degree.

AMRD - Advanced Mineral Resource Development

Advanced Mineral Resources Development (AMRD) is a Joint Master Degree Program between Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria) and TU (Technische Universität) Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany) and a third partner university.  

Students will study the first semester at Montanuniversität Leoben, the second semester at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, and the third and fourth semester at another partner university. The fourth semester is for the preparation of the master's thesis. The language of instruction is English.

SUMA - International Master in Sustainable Materials

The Sustainable Materials (SUMA) master programs are two-year master programs embedded in the engineering programs of the participating universities (120 ECTS). They combine a high level of expertise in materials with competences in sustainable materials engineering and sustainability to educate responsible materials oriented entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders for the future.

Joint International Master Program in Petroleum Engineering

The Joint International Master Program in Petroleum Eningeering is a double degree program with three different specializations:

IMGP - International Master of Applied and Exploration Geophysics

The international Master Program in Applied and Exploration Geophyics (IMGP) is a joint degree with the University of Pisa. During the studies, at least one term is spent at the partner university. The classes are in English language and the focus is on the geophysical exploration of resources and the near surface. Imaging and inversion, rock physics and formation evaluation are important parts of the study program.

BMC - International Master of Science in Building Materials and Ceramics

The program, held in English, provides students with broad and profound skills in the areas of structure, properties, manufacture and application of products of the building materials and ceramics industry (mineral binders and building materials, refractory materials, ceramics and glass) as well as mineral processing. It is double degree program with a duration of four semesters, split between two partner universities. The first two semesters are held at Wuhan University of Science and Technology and the third and fourth semester are held at Montanuniversitaet Leoben.
