Yoga Connects Leoben and India
Join us for a special intercultural yoga experience in the Augarten area at Asia Spa Leoben. As part of the Focus India programme at Montanuniversität Leoben, this initiative invites students, staff, faculty members, and the wider Leoben community to come together through movement, mindfulness, wellbeing, and cultural exchange.
The sessions are beginner-friendly and open to everyone aged 13 years and above. No previous yoga experience is required.
About the Initiative
The Focus India Yoga Initiative is designed as an intercultural wellness and community-building programme within the framework of the Focus India initiative at Montanuniversität Leoben.
The concept behind the initiative is not only to promote physical wellbeing and mindfulness, but also to create opportunities for cultural exchange and community interaction between students, university staff, and the local Leoben community.
Yoga, originating from India, serves as a bridge between cultures and offers an approachable and welcoming environment for participants to connect through movement, health, and shared experiences.
The large public kick-off event on 1 July 2026 will serve as the official opening of the initiative. In addition to the yoga programme, the kick-off event will include a relaxed networking atmosphere with refreshment stations, light food and beverages, and opportunities for intercultural exchange in a welcoming summer setting.
The event aims to create an open and inclusive atmosphere where participants can engage with Indian wellness traditions while connecting with the wider university and Leoben community.
