New Dual Degree Programs!
Colorado School of Mines and Montanuniversitaet Leoben sign unique Dual Degree Programs
Ever since 1989 Colorado School of Mines and Montanuniversität Leoben write a common cooperation history. To strengthen bonds even more, the two institutions have signed two Dual Degree Master programs on 05 December 2018.
Starting from the academic year 2019/20 on students can complete a joint master program in the subject areas of Mining Engineering or Petroleum Engineering, which at the end earns them a US-American as well as an Austrian Master’s Degree. As such, this degree will give the students access to the European as well as the US-American labor market.
In times of a globally connected labor world, it is of irreplaceable value to provide education programs that provide students with the necessary international and intercultural skillset to persist and compete in such a world. Two institutions that are top-of-the-notch expertise leaders in the mentioned subjects and are not only academically but also personally well connected thus bundled their forces and now provide the graduates of tomorrow with a competition-less education option. Interested students can apply from January 2019 on.

The Erasmus+ Day 2019 at Montanuniversitaet Leoben
1.000 Origami Cranes for Peace on Earth
On Friday, 12th of October 2018, MIRO celebrated the Erasmus+ Day at Montanuniversität Leoben. For this very special occasion we organized a photo competition on the topic ‘Effect of Lights Across the World’. The winners were Thomas Meisel (1), Katharina Resch- Fauster (2) und Ernst Theussl (3) – CONGRATULATIONS!
BUT this was not enough for us! In addition, MIRO also organized an ‘origami flashmob’, as according to a Japanese tradition one BIG IMPORTANT WISH comes true, if you manage to craft 1.000 origami cranes. And this is exactly what we did - We crafted LOTS of these little birds to wish for probably the most important thing on this world: PEACE ON EARTH!
