Information for Employees

As a higher education organisation, our employees with their knowledge and relationship and structural capacity represent the outstanding potential of Montanuniversität, alongside our students.

As of 31/12/2015, Montanuniversität employed 1,306 people. Of those, 956 were academic personnel and 353 were general personnel. A total of 609 employees from both groups are financed externally via R&D projects.

Mobility Programme for Employees

Studies/training abroad

Employees from Montanuniversität can use the ERASMUS-STT programme to travel for further education purposes and participate in further education programmes with European partner institutions and/or companies, using their own initiative to organise these stays. These further education programmes can include subject-related courses, training sessions, workshops, internships, job shadowing, know-how transfer etc. You can also combine any of the aforementioned activities.

Duration: From five working days up to six weeks

Where: Any of the 28 EU Member States, as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Turkey

Subsidy: Will depend on the host country and duration of stay. There are special subsidies for university personnel with special needs.

Lecturer travel

The European Union ERASMUS programme allows lecturers to travel to a European partner university as a visiting lecturer for a short stay, and provides financial support for incoming lecturers from foreign institutions. This means that students who cannot travel internationally have the chance to benefit from the knowledge and expertise of university lecturers from other European universities. It also helps universities expand their study programmes, strengthen cooperation between partner universities and create new cooperation opportunities.

Duration: No minimum duration, maximum duration six weeks. You must teach at the host university for at least five hours.

Where: At a partner university with a valid contract including lecturer travel.

Subsidy: Will depend on the host country and duration of stay. There are special subsidies for university personnel with special needs.
